    Medical Services is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual who is a team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Senior Medical Performance Specialist, you will deliver significant business & clinical analysis of healthcare programs, process & knowledge management of department operations while maintaining high levels of customer service through internal consulting.

    Applicants must reside in the Edmonton area; hybrid work environment with the expectation to work onsite 1-2 days per week after the initial training period.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert and provides change management support for technology and process changes.
  • Conducts analysis and makes recommendations for advancing the business through process design and system changes.
  • Captures and translates business needs into business requirements that drive the development of innovative business process enhancements.
  • Able to qualify process outcomes and provide outcome reporting and evaluation.
  • Business experience in a medical setting, understanding of clinical terminology, and/or project management work is considered an asset.
  • Identify and explore business opportunities in the delivery of core medical services to injured workers.
  • Translate narrative clinical data into elements suitable for qualitive and/or quantitative analysis.
  • Design, implement and gather claim evaluation data to support existing programs or new medical proof of concepts. Conducts data analysis and reporting using modern reporting tools, and evaluation of financial and clinical outcomes.
  • Experience and competence using programming languages is an asset.
  • Provides day to day operational support with strong focus on timeliness, communication, collaboration, and quality.
  • Must be able to perform initial business investigations and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Translates client reporting requests and assists in report creation, training, analysis, and support to ensure user reporting requirements are met.
  • Assist in the financial monitoring, auditing, and reporting of key service outcomes while proposing opportunities for improvement.
  • Liaise with Business Analysts on department initiatives to drive improved operational outcomes.
  • In conjunction with Business Technology Services, explore automation opportunities to enhance operational needs.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and reporting progress of Business Acceptance Testing phase.
  • Formulate and compile reports on financial adherence to business and contractual expectations.
  • Your experience and skills:

  • An undergraduate degree in health science, MIS, computer science, statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum five to seven years' experience in a complex business, healthcare, or IT environment. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency with data and statistical analysis tools and data extraction/reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Cognos). Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is an asset.
  • Ability to retrieve and summarize/synthesize medical literature.
  • Highly developed understanding of requirements/information gathering, business and system analysis is desired.
  • Experience with data analytics, business automation, and ML/AI would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills combined with excellent presentation, verbal, and written skills.
  • Experience preparing reports for senior leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills with a commitment to providing quality customer service.
  • PMP, CBAP designation, or BA Certification would be an asset.
  • Salary: Salary will be evaluated based on candidate's skills and experience.

    $78,409 to $99,817 (includes Market Supplement)
