REMCA Corp is a Thunder Bay based, General Contractor which focuses on complete builds, interior construction, concrete foundations and floors for the ICI sector. We are currently searching for an
Estimator/ Project Coordinator.
This position is a full-time position, starting immediately. Must be willing to travel. Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license. Must be bondable. Must live in Thunder Bay or surrounding area


Responsibilities

• Analyze and/or prepare tender documents prior to tendering
• Read and Interpret drawings to determine accurate and timely estimates for all scopes on tender packages
• Provide preconstruction services from development of preliminary budgets, cost planning, start to finish of tender process and award of subcontracts
• Work closely with the project management team and site supervision
• Prepare project schedules and provide input on achieving preconstruction activities
• Attend site visits and weekly site meetings with clients, architects and engineers. Provide input as necessary
• Identify, address and resolve problems as or before they arise
• Maintain a high standard of professional ethics, while developing and maintaining positive relationships with client, consultants, suppliers and trades

Qualifications

• 35 experience in a estimating and project management role, preferably in an ICI construction sector.
• Undergraduate degree or college diploma in quality surveying, construction management, engineering or 5+ years of related handson experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, MS Projects, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine scope of work
• Able to work unsupervised, as well as part of a team environment
• A critical thinker with strong problem solving, negotiating skills and an attention to details
• Superior written and verbal communication in English is a must
