    Position Background:


    The Journeyman Electrician interprets drawings, sketches and specifications to produce or repair various parts and equipment, as well as undertakes the set-up and general maintenance of electrical systems.

    The Journeyman Electrician uses various equipment, machinery and hand tools to achieve the final product. This position requires safe work practices at all times and adherence to the ISO 9001 Quality System guidelines. This position is a field-based position.


    Responsibilities and Duties:
    Heat trace installation
    Install, alter, repair, maintain various electrical systems and related equipment
    Read and interpret electrical and mechanical code specifications
    Plan layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
    Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services
    Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, to ensure compliance with codes
    Heat trace installation
    Cable pulling
    Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of the electrical conductor
    Troubleshoot equipment
    Perform on-site service calls to support our equipment at customer facilities both local and out of town
    Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics for electrical equipment
    Build and/or modify electrical equipment based on drawings and feedback from our Engineering Group
    Keep notes to ensure equipment drawings reflect any/or all last-minute modifications to equipment/project
    Keep an accurate account of project assembly hours and materials
    Work in a safe and efficient manner
    Work with Engineering Group to optimize electrical control projects to increase reliability, and reduce costs/assembly time
    Install, examine replace or repair electrical components including motors, VFD's, transformers and related wiring
    Install control equipment including PLC's, HMI's, Switches, Sensors, etc.
    Support other work on site as needed including non-electrical work
    Observe all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment
    This is a 14 On 14 Off and Fly In Fly Out position.

    Drug and Alcohol testing and Medical Exam required for this position.


    Qualifications and Skills:
    Willing and able to work with tight deadlines
    Valid Driver's License and relatively clean abstract
    Journeyman certificate is required
    5 years of journeyman experience
    Red Seal is preferred
    Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities
    Good communication and reading skills
    Industrial and commercial experience is an asset
