NIGHT SHIFT-MONDAY-THURSDAY 7:30pm-7am


The Junior Quality Assurance Technician reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for ensuring Canbrands products meet established standards of quality through developing, revising, and maintaining quality and food safety standards and ensuring effective training of staff and adherence throughout the organization.


Key Responsibilities:


  • With guidance from the QA Manager you will introduce, develop, maintain, and update QA procedures, manuals, training, and programs. (HACCP, BRC, GFCP, GFCO, GMP, 3rd Party Audits)
  • Work collectively on quality assurance and food safetyrelated projects and participate in staff training at all levels.
  • Work closely with the QA Manager/Plant Manager on the implementation of new projects
  • Liaise with government and regulatory agencies
  • Monitor sanitation and GMP procedures for the plant
  • Conduct GMP and sanitation audits of operations and warehouse areas
  • Ensure allergens are being managed appropriately
  • Monitor and maintain the "Hold", "Rework", and "Return" programs
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with other company departments, (R&D, Procurement, Purchasing, Accounting), on quality and processrelated programs and issues
  • Assist to establish finished goods quality standards and work with manufacturing to ensure such standards are met
  • Analyze product quality and other related data and develop projects for quality improvement with processes, manufacturing, and R&D
  • Coordinate quality improvement projects with all departmental teams
  • Maintain measurable improvement for quality assurance across the company
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary

Qualifications and Experience:


  • A degree/diploma and/or technical training in Food Science Technology/Industrial Microbiology
  • Minimum 1year experience in QA/QC in a food processing/manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of BRC, Food Safety Issue
  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of HACCP, BRC, GMP, 3rd Party Audits
  • Experience with Government Regulatory requirements for food plants
  • Strong understanding of food safety
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (word, excel, outlook, etc.)
