LINE TRADE TECHNICIAN


Under the general direction of the Supervisor, or delegate, the Line Trade Technician will be responsible to perform work required to construct, repair and/or maintain the distribution system as well as patrols and inspections as required, emergency repairs, response to customer needs and attending unplanned outages.


  • Certified as a Journeyperson Powerline Technician (certified to work in Ontario) under an industry standard Powerline Training Program
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class "A" or "D" Ontario Driver's License with a Class "Z" endorsement and a clean driver's abstract
  • Must be able to fulfill 'oncall' responsibilities if requested
  • Must be able to perform the essential duties in all weather conditions
  • Excellent working knowledge of all applicable Provincial Safety Regulations, Provincial Environmental Regulations, IHSA Electrical and Utility Safety Rules and Safe Practice Guides
  • Demonstrate safe work practices
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR and WHMIS
  • Ability to read and interpret documentation pertinent to the work (i.e. instructions, prints, drawings, sketches, operating diagrams, work protection documents, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, customers and industry partners
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is an asset
