About this role:


You will be part of a dynamic team working to gain practical and professional experience in our Human Resources/Health & Safety department.

As a Human Resources/Health & Safety Summer Student, you will support the Human Resources/Health & Safety team with a variety of projects.

As a Human Resources/Health & Safety Summer Student, you'll have the opportunity to contribute as part of our team, work alongside and learn from experienced and talented professionals.

This position has dual reporting to the Director, People & Culture and Director, Health & Safety. This position is an onsite role at our 1340 Brant Street location.

**Core Responsibilities:

Human Resources:


  • Updating forms into electronic format
  • Onboarding and Orientation support
  • Developing HR toolkits and updating HR documents
  • Research and assist in HR programs support
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Health & Safety:


  • Health & Safety Risk Assessment
  • Safe Work Procedure Reviews
  • Ergonomic Assessments
  • Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) audit
  • Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:


  • Enrolled in a postsecondary institution in Fall 202
  • Keen interest in Human Resources and Health and Safety

What you will need to be successful:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including reading comprehension, with the ability to communicate clearly
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills; a good work ethic with a positive approach to work and coworkers; energetic and motivated with an excellent attendance record
  • Able and willing to learn, adapt to new technologies, flexible when situations change, able to work in an ambiguous environment
