Who We Are
The Department of Philosophy at SFU is a medium sized unit offering a successful undergraduate program with a range of majors, minors, certificates, service courses, and an MA program.
A small but stable and enthusiastic administrative team supports teaching and research faculty, and students, both from the philosophy program and from other programs at the university.
About the Role
The Undergraduate Advisor provides advice to potential and registered undergraduate students for the Department of Philosophy.
The role responds to inquiries regarding the undergraduate programs, including program planning, course offerings and selection, and degree requirements; clarifies university regulations by interpreting the academic calendar; and assists with the undergraduate registration process, programs of study, and graduation evaluations and activities including curriculum and scheduling.
The Undergraduate Advisor provides a range of analytical information for the Department of Philosophy; supports curriculum updates and revisions; coordinates the process of post-secondary transfer credit requests; and prepares promotional materials for internal and external publicity, including maintenance and oversight of program websites and other media.
