Shop Assistant/on Site Assistant - Vancouver, Canada - Cruise Ship Glass

Looking for an assistant at our shop/warehouse in Vancouver. Experience in glass work preferred but not required. Our company services Cruise Ships.

During the Alaska Cruise Season, we will go on board a ship while it's at port in Vancouver/Victoria/Seattle to do various jobs (sales visit, measuring, installation, etc.) Because of the Cruise Ships Calendar, we are required to work various days of the week.

We will provide at least 2 days off a week together but they wont always be a weekend. Our hours of operation are 8am - 4pm.

During days which we are not onboard a cruise ship, we are usually preparing glass at the shop to send to a ship or making deliveries or pick ups of products in our company van around the lower mainland.

Having a drivers license is required and a clean drivers record is preferred.

Products we service for the Cruise Ships are Windows, resealing, window frames, glass doors with artwork, bathroom mirrors, buffet sneeze guards.......anything made of glass on the ship, we will service.

Having a background in glazing is a bonus but not a requirement. Being detailed orientated is something we are looking for.

Because of the nature of our work, we are looking for someone who is a problem solver.

Every window system changes from ship to ship and there is always something new that we need to figure out during an install or ship visit.

Also looking for someone who is comfortable at height as we often work from cherry pickers or window washing stations on the outside of the ship.

*Must have passport as there is potential for travel to other countries for work
*Parking is available at our shop and a car is recommended as we are not on a major transportation line

During the rest of the year (while ships are not frequenting Vancouver) we will often travel around the world to visit ships and preform drydocks or maintenance work which can require us to be away for longer periods of time (up to 2 weeks away)
