Job Summary
- To be the first to welcome and the last to encourage the return of all guests. Provide assistance with luggage and transportation needs and connect our guests with distinctively different and unscripted discoveries throughout their stay._
Role and Responsibilities
- _Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests_
- _Maintain and improve the quality of the guest experience at all times_
- _Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately._
- _Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction._
- _Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas_
- _Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards_
- _Ensure that the Bell Desk is attended at all times; that all posting positions are maintained._
- _Answer Bell Desk telephone within 3 rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette._
- _Document guest calls/requests for Bell Person assistance_
- _Maintain security and accurate record of all guest room keys issued to Bell/Door Staff._
- _Assist Door Staff whenever necessary in performing all job functions._
- _Anticipate guests' need, respond promptly and acknowledge all guest_
- _Coordinate group luggage requirements_
- _Monitor and maintain the condition of lobby, hotel entrance, Bell Desk and luggage storage areas_
- _Ensure that all pertinent information is documented in the log book daily_
- _Transport luggage from time of arrival to departure to include room moves_
- _Correctly tag, store and retrieve luggage from holding room._
- _Show guest how to access the room with the key card_
- _Offer packing and unpacking services, explain laundry service_
- _Remain in assigned post position, maintaining correct stance_
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year guest service experience in a Hotel or related industry; experience within a luxury hotel environment is a plus._
- Postsecondary degree in tourism or hospitality is preferred._
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting (luggage, packages, boxes)_
- Must have a valid Ontario Drivers Licence_
- Must have excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to interact with all levels of guests in a professional and cordial manner._
- Energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide an outstanding guest service experience._
- Flexible shift availability including evenings, weekends and holidays._
