The Northern Region's Corporate Services program is a diverse, dynamic and integrated team that includes the delivery of Financial and Information Management services.
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Financial Services team under the direction of the Manager, Corporate Services.
The Regional Financial Officer, with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, takes a leadership role in delivering financial services to District and Business Unit staff in the Northern Region.
You will be responsible for providing a full range of financial services to the region, including providing District and Business Unit Managers and their staff with advice and recommendations on the financial impacts of operational issues.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma plus 1 year of
related experience;
OR: - 2nd Level of the Government Financial Management Certificate (FMCP) plus 2 years of
related experience;
OR: - High school graduation plus 5 years of
related experience. - Experience supervising staff.
Related experience must include each of the following:
- expenditure analysis and evaluation
- financial review of financial statements and reports
- development and analysis of forecasting tools
- working with large scale computerized financial systems, such as Oracle Financials
- Experience in conducting financial forecasts and analysis and in supporting budget evaluation processes for multiple business areas.
- Experience analyzing financial and accounting statements and recommending reallocations.
- Experience developing financial statements and reports.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Supervisory experience.
- Transportationrelated experience.
