Nova Paving (Sask) Ltd. is a well-established heavy civil construction company based in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are currently seeking hard-working individuals for the role of
Equipment
Operator/Labourer, preferably with experience running a
mini excavator.

Reporting to the Site Foreman and Project Management Team, this position is responsible for operating heavy equipment as well as doing any labour work required in a safe and appropriate manner consistent with company values, policies and procedures.

The position runs annually from May to November and we are hiring now for the upcoming 2024 season


Requirements:


  • At least 5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
  • Valid Driver's License & reliable transportation
  • Solid understanding of construction, maintenance techniques & how to safely use equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator trade certification considered an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Checking equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the Site Foreman in order to facilitate prompt correction and reporting.
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work on site as required.
  • Perform a large variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
  • Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from crew members as needed, check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
  • Operate equipment such as mobile radios and telephones to exchange necessary information to Site Foreman or other operators.
  • Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up.
  • Other duties as required.
