Employees direct the operation of the warehousing facility and perform materials handling activities including planning, directing, coordinating, inventory management and control, site purchasing assisting with the development of blanket contracts for goods and warehouse distribution in accordance with station policies and procedures.

In accordance with corporate/station policies this position may assist with purchases up to $25,000.


What you'll be doing:


Under the general supervision of the Department Supervisor, employees perform materials handling activities related to the operation of a warehouse facility.

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:


  • Receiving goods and materials that have been procured for current or future use in the operation and maintenance of a generating station ensure all documentation is completed
  • Shipping of goods and materials from the warehouse to other locations or onsite for use in the generating station ensuring all associated documents are completed and filed
  • Expediting stock and materials ensuring that goods arrive in a timely manner and meet the agreedto specifications
  • Arrange for disposal or sale and preparing returns of surplus goods or materials to suppliers as directed
  • Maintaining the warehouse, yard and associated buildings in a clean and orderly condition
  • Filling and preparing orders for materials ordered for work orders ensuring that orders are input and recorded to the corresponding work orders
  • Performing cycle counts on a weekly/monthly or annual basis to ensure that stock levels are kept at an economic operating level
  • Perform issues and returns of inventory as requested and ensure that transactions are input and recorded to the corresponding work orders
  • Provide support to customers requesting materials and/or services at the warehouse counter
  • Operating and maintaining vehicles and equipment i.e. forklifts used in operating the warehousing facility
  • Provide purchasing support to the Materials Management Coordinator and Purchasing Coordinator
  • Establish appropriate terms and conditions for purchases based on the purchasing standards
  • Issue bid requests, summarize bids and analyze results, issue and process purchase orders
  • All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with established health, safety and environmental principles, corporate policies, practices and procedures and applicable government legislation._

What you must have:


  • Completion of Grade XII
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • Willingness and ability to complete courses leading to a Supply Management Training Certification (SMT) offered by the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) and/or the Supply Chain Management Professional Designation Program (SCMP)
  • Strong computer skills
