    Status: Temporary Part-time (approximately 18 months) (0.5 FTE)

    Hours: Monday to Sunday - Days and Nights -- 12 hour rotating shifts ---, - (hours subject to change based on operational requirements)

    This is what you'll be doing:

    Functions as an active member of a multidisciplinary team in the provision of patient-focused care for the Rehab/Geriatric Unit. The successful candidate will collaborate with other health care professionals in the planning and implementation of care for a wide variety of Rehab/Geriatric cases.

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
  • Medication administration and asceptic technique certification mandatory.
  • 1-2 years experience in the Rehab/Geriatric setting.
  • Strong geriatric/medical/surgical/ background.
  • Advanced RPN assessment skills (i.e. catheterization care, skin/wound care).
  • Caring and compassionate attitude towards patients and families.
  • Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary Rehab team setting
  • Ability to co-ordinate and interface with community resources, CCAC and family members, e.g. discharge conferences.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position such as lifting and transfer of heavy care patients, utilizing assistance of others/equipment as required.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
  • The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

    Salary: $33.26 to $35.97 per hour
