DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as an expert resource for all regulatory matters affecting the operations of Elexicon Energy.
  • Developing advocacy positions and representing Elexicon Energy in regulatory and industry stakeholder consultations.
  • Conducting regulatory accounting in compliance with OEB requirements.
  • Developing and preparing rate strategies in collaboration with the VP, Regulatory Affairs & Stakeholders.
  • Developing and implementing a regulatory compliance plan.
  • Ensuring Elexicon Energy is in compliance with all regulatory requirements, including data collection, reporting, implementation of internal process changes and recording keeping.
  • Analyzing and preparing monthly settlements requirements with the IESO.
  • Other duties as required may be considered part of these responsibilities.
  • Fosters creativity and innovation and actively looks for new ideas to improve the operations of the unit
  • Recommends improvements to operational technologies
  • Identifies opportunities to improve the quality of the business unit's operations and the efficient utilization of resources.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Responsibility for direction and supervision of health and safety policies to ensure that all departmental staff are operating in a safe environment.

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the operations of utilities and the industry in Ontario
  • Strong analytical, communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of customer experience issues and how they relate to utility regulation
  • Expertise in regulatory accounting and the OEB's Accounting Procedures Handbook.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Related experience (8+ years) in a management role.
  • Expertise in regulatory accounting and the OEB's Accounting Procedures Handbook.
  • Possession of a recognized Professional Accounting Designation (CPA), or a combination of relevant education, training and experience.
