Responsibilities

Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas
Collects and transports garbage, recycling with the ability to push/pull large carts
Performs periodic floor and carpet maintenance in accordance with established procedures and prescribed techniques
Maintains cleanliness, orderliness and general repair of equipment and work area
Completes project/ special cleaning, in areas as assigned by the supervisor
Follows safe work practices
Respects and protect client confidentiality
Completes specific setups for special functions
Completes office moves transporting of desks, cabinets and other furniture from one area to another as requested by supervisors
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas so that health standards are met
Communicates with internal stakeholders
Performs other related duties

Qualifications

Grade 10 or equivalent
Previous experience with basic cleaning and floor care experience preferred ; Preference will be given to individuals with one (1) or more years or work experience in housekeeping/ cleaning
Must be able to read, write, comprehend and follow through on specific instructions
Able to lift, pull, push and move heavy equipment and heavy furniture on a regular daily basis (up to 50lbs)
Knowledge/ experience of floor stripping, WHMIS, carpet care, and refinishing floors
Basic computer skills
Able to maintain regular and consistent attendance
Able to work well with others including: coworkers, supervisors and residents
Able to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision
