    In this dynamic role, you'll engage with students from all walks of life, whether they're on-campus or accessing resources remotely. Collaborating closely with a dedicated team, you'll ensure that every interaction leaves a lasting impact, delivering outstanding service to students, staff, and faculty alike. Under the guidance of our Faculty Administrator, your primary focus will be on student recruitment and retention for the MSW program. Working hand-in-hand with the Associate Dean – Research and Graduate, you'll support and contribute to the growth of our graduate program, driving innovation and excellence every step of the way.

    What You'll Do:
  • Student advising and registration.
  • Program communications and coordination of events such as orientations and recruitment events, defenses and seminars.
  • Updating the Faculty of Social Work section of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research calendar.
  • Final preparation of applications packages for review by faculty.
  • Compiling graduation statistics, forecasting course demand, detail registration audit, updating MSW access database
  • Coordinating transfer credit requests.
  • Coordinating documentation for research and teaching assistants appointments.
  • Updating information for web pages.
  • Monitoring students registration and program progress.
  • Identifying students not meeting program plan and timelines and initiating program review with students.
  • Developing and delivering presentations and coordinating and managing projects.
  • Preparing and distributing meeting agendas and preparing minutes.
  • Working collaboratively with the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research to facilitate applications, registration, scholarships, program changes and transfer of students in our programs.
  • Assist with the undergraduate program as needed. (eg. assistant with strategic projects, advising and admissions tasks).

    Position Requirements What You Will Bring to the Position:
  • Undergraduate degree; and
  • Three years of related experience preferably in a University advising environment.
  • Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role:
  • Must have direct experience advising students;
  • Knowledge of good-practice mentoring;
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the University's and the Faculty's academic policies and procedures, administrative systems, programs and registration procedures;
  • Exceptional communication (oral and written), interpersonal and presentation skills and ability to work with diverse clientele;
  • Must have direct experience working with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook (GroupWise), Access and PowerPoint;
  • Experience working with complex databases such as: Banner, Caspur, UR Self Service, and UR Docs;
  • Experience using distance communication modalities such as Zoom and MS Teams, with flexibility and adaptability to learning new technologies;
  • Knowledge of Graduate and Undergraduate Programs and the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research policies and procedures is a requirement;
  • Must have knowledge of Scholarships and Awards, financial aid with the University, and Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loan Programs;
  • Must have knowledge of Social Work professional organizations (CASW, CASWE, SASW) and how they interact with graduate students and faculty members;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy;
  • Ability to coordinate and administer projects and events, and manage multiple tasks;
  • Ability to travel is required – approximately four to six day trips a year;
  • Preference will be given to individuals with an academic background in Social Work, ideally the Master's program.
