We are currently searching for an Accounting Administrator reporting to the Manager, Business Unit, Draught Services. This is a Full-Time Permanent opportunity.

Draught Services, a division within The Beer Store, is Canada's oldest and largest draught service and equipment company established since 1947.

We work with Brewers and Licensees towards the common goal of promoting the highest quality draught beer experience through industry leading installation, global partnerships, and an established US and Canadian dealer network.

We offer nationwide installation, system cleaning and service, and support and offer Canada's premier Keg repair service.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage all AR functions in a fastpaced environment while meeting all necessary weekly and monthly accounting deadlines. Maintains an organized schedule and prioritizes month end procedures as needed
  • Responsible for completing all administrative tasks with attention to detail and efficient workflow. Manages time around accounting deadlines whilst providing high quality service to customers, breweries, and DS field technicians
  • Maintains all brewery rep AR and ensures payment is processed in a timely manner, within terms
  • Responsible for managing all month end procedures every period and meeting Head Office deadlines
  • Complete Bank Reconciliation weekly in computerized accounting system and Excel
  • Prepare system deposit of cheques received in daily mail and take to the bank when required
  • Prepare system deposit for cheques and cash received by field reps on a weekly basis and take to the bank for processing
  • Manage field invoices daily and maintain timely entries, mailing and communications of all posted documents
  • Create and provide a weekly status report of deposits paid and administer to field reps
  • Manage all brewery rep AR and collect payment in a timely manner without dispute
  • Manage all field invoices pertaining to Labatt while maintaining positive relations with Labatt coordinators and ensuring all invoices are paid within terms
  • Maintain frequent communication with Molson Brewery Reps and contact regularly to keep Molson AR within payment terms
  • Responsible for Sleemans AR by contacting their AP rep and ensuring all outstanding invoices are paid within terms
  • Manage all Premier communications by delegating requests to field technicians, and ensure prompt communication of invoices to Premier AP
  • Prepare the Write Off & Recoveries journal to be signed and approved by management
  • Maintain smooth process for all AP, AR and Inventory reports at period end and submit final numbers for signing approval by Business Unit Manager
  • Responsible for balancing Keg Inventory and AR accounts between head office accounting database and Draught Services. Monthly report submitted for approval to Business Unit Manager
  • Maintain weekly rep mail and administer throughout office to necessary staff
  • Provide backup for A/P and Field Admin function when required due to absence or vacation
  • Shared responsibility with other administrative staff to enter new accounts on an 'as requested' basis
  • Manage special AR projects as assigned by any member of the management team
  • Shared responsibility for answering customer inquires and paging out services calls to technicians
  • Provide positive interaction with customers, service techs and brewery reps regarding status of accounts and outstanding

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Diploma or certificate in Business Administration and Accounting
  • 12 years experience in administration and/or accounting
  • Customer service experience
  • Intermediate accounting knowledge with an understanding of general accounting principles
  • Intermediate computer skills of M
