Position Title:
Maintenance Assistant


Position Location:
Royal Inland Hospital - Kamloops, BC


Position Summary:

This position is designed to provide reactive and preventative maintenance to the grounds, equipment and buildings to provide a safe, and quality functional environment.


You as a Maintenance Assistant:

Assist with reactive and preventative general maintenance repair tasks


Assist with non-technical tasks, such as: running errands i.e. retrieving supplies/materials for tasks, providing support where work requires more than one person, cleaning up after completion of tasks, etc
Comply with the work order system to include interpreting work orders, performing work requests and completing work orders as per instruction
Move furniture and equipment as assigned
Perform non-technical tasks such as delivering, receiving, painting, and snow removal
Load or unload material, parts or products onto or from pallets, skids, or trucks
Observe assigned area(s) for damage, etc.

, and reports to supervisor items needing attention:
make simple repairs and adjustments including unstopping toilet(s)

May be required to perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
trash collection and removal, small equipment repair and preventative maintenance assignments
Comply with relevant company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards. Performs work in accordance with established safety procedures
Respond to emergency helicopter landings

Is this role right for you?

Must be able to perform general maintenance and repair work
Carpentry skills are a preferred asset
Minor mechanical repair skills are a preferred asset
Required to possess a valid driver's license
Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
Building maintenance considered an asset
Construction or technician experience considered an asset
