Morrison Hershfield's Building Specialty Services (BSS) Business Unit provides planning, design, and construction administration services for a vast array of buildings with areas of specialty including building science, enclosure consulting, energy modeling, sustainability and commissioning.

We have developed a comprehensive internal technical development program consisting of both formal and informal training.


We are currently seeking a Technical Development Coordinator to assist our North American BSS team, with focus on our Building Science consulting practice.

The Coordinator should reside in a city with an MH office that offers Building Science services.


The Technical Development Coordinator will provide logĂ­stical and administrative support to the BSS team and will be responsible for (but not limited to) the management of technical documents, administrative department support, as well as the coordination of the Building Envelope Technical Development Training Curriculum programs under the direction of the Director of Technical Development.

This is a full-time position.


Responsibilities:

Document Management

Collaborate with Technical Service Area Managers and Practice Leads on development and updating of technical documentation on SharePoint:

  • Coordinate ongoing working document assignments;
  • Review and update document formatting to branding standard;
  • Review locally saved documents for consolidation and migration to SharePoint or other specified locations;
  • Maintain a list of subscriptions to key industry/standards; coordinate requests and renewals;
  • Audit subscription usage; compile a quarterly report.
SharePoint

Develop and maintain Technical SharePoint sites:

  • Manage content and update the structure of sites as needed;-
  • Review new document posting for proper location, naming convention, and metadata;
  • Assist staff with site navigation;
  • Assist staff with posting documentation.
Industry Outreach

Work with Technical Subject Matter Experts and Practice Leads on industry outreach:

  • Maintain a list of key industry-facing and client-facing conference venues;
  • Track submittal of abstracts;
  • Track progress on submittal of papers and presentations;
  • Retrieve event proceedings for posting to SharePoint;
Training

Work with Technical Service Area Managers, Subject Matter Experts and Practice Leads on internal staff training:

  • Coordinate topics and assigned presenter for bi-monthly internal staff presentations;-
  • Track progress on preparation of presentations;
  • Review and edit PowerPoint presentation prior to delivery;
  • Record and edit bi-monthly staff presentations;
  • Prep presenter prior to delivery to ensure recording runs smoothly;
  • Host the meeting; monitor chat questions; download attendance for Workday Learning import
  • Assist with updating existing presentations slated for re-recording;
  • Create Workday courses for recorded presentations; upload video,
  • Update Workday programs, training trackers, and SharePoint pages.
  • Audit staff course completion for a quarterly training report

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding communication skills (including writing, proofreading and editing);
  • Experience working with confidential information;
  • Confidence in interacting with all levels of management and internal and external clients;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Great interpersonal skills such as initiative and attention to detail;
  • Understanding of construction terms and process;
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Proficiency in MS 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams);
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online;
  • Experience with audio/visual recording software a plus (TechSmith's Camtasia)
Education/Experience


Degree in Business Administration/Management is preferred.- Previous experience in a consulting engineering environment is considered an asset.- 5 or more years of administrative experience.
