Shipper/receiver - Brampton, Canada - Drader Manufacturing
Description
The Shipper/receiver is responsible for processing all orders and performing tasks associated with picking, shipping and stocking to ensure a good warehouse flow in collaboration with all direct team members.
The Shipper/Receiver reports to the Plant Manager.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pick and ship all client orders correctly, efficiently and with accuracy using thirdparty carriers
- Stock adequately all goods and products through rigorous inventory management.
- Ensure orders are printed on Pick tickets and picked accurately and correctly
- Assist in properly packing and labelling of orders
- Ensure packed orders are placed in correct staging areas for driver's pickup
- Conduct inventory counts daily or on a as need basis
- Review and investigate shortages as it relates to errors and omissions, receiving or picking errors
- Review and assist in making sure all inventory is located correctly in warehouse.
- Review and assist with picking fillable backorders and fillable branch transfers weekly.
- Complete all same day business immediately by picking, reviewing and doublechecking orders for correct amounts and correct items during packing process.
- Ensure that orders are packaged and labelled correctly, and correct carriers are picked
- Ensure that all orders are reported to our delivery manifest or thirdparty manifest.
- Write reports as requested and make sure all documents are completed correctly
- Ensure all heavy load areas are secure and proper equipment used to retrieve product
- Respect safety measures at all times and report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor
- Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ensure equipment is turned off and locked out when not in use. Make sure warehouse is kept clean.
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.
- Must be qualified to operate a forklift.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Forklift and appropriate handling license
- Hazardous Material handling license
- High school diploma
WORK CONDITIONS
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Overtime and weekend work as required

$20.00-$25.00 per hour
