Associate I Product Safety and Regulatory

Who we are and what we do:

Responsibilities

  • Review information from searches and/or provided by project managers (includes identifying and reviewing old the company reports, and published articles, speak with other project managers); required to use own initiative to make sure that selected materials are complete.
  • Select and review applicable papers (this can be conducted on own initiative or with assistance of the project manager).
  • Organize pertinent information according to project requirements and outline the format of the document.
  • Report information and ensure that the report identifies all required issues, which may include forming an opinion, and making conclusions based upon the scientific information that has been reviewed.
  • Write brief summaries (abstracts) of large bodies of information so that all key elements and conclusions are presented. Provide analysis, recommendations, and associations between inter
- and intra-related issues.

  • Assist senior scientific staff with special requests: e.g., editing of documents, reviewing clinical studies as required.

Qualifications

EXTERNAL EDUCATION

  • Degree in Science, B.Sc., or M.Sc.
  • Toxicology or related discipline (01 years experience)

Core Competencies

  • General knowledge in the discipline of hazard characterization and risk assessment practices
  • General knowledge in basic principles of human/animal toxicology
  • General knowledge in biochemistry, human biology, molecular biology, and human and/or animal nutrition
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written format
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Effective business writing and composition skills with a good command of the English language
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to work independently in a fastpaced, multitasking environment
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office software expertise

Value Added Competencies

  • Ability to critically evaluate scientific papers
  • Ability to work on a number of different aspects of one project and evaluate and integrate work from a number of sources into the project
  • Ability to retain clear picture of project goals, plus understanding how projects are structured
  • Excellent written skills as a professional scientist
