Description

The Town of East Gwillimbury is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, outgoing individuals with demonstrated leadership skills who are looking forward to an exciting and rewarding summer, within our Community Parks, Recreation & Culture Department.

Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinators and the Camp Directors, the Camp Supervisors will
be responsible for**:

Planning, organizing and implementing safe, inclusive and creative programming
Actively participating in all aspects of camp
Maintaining positive communication between staff, volunteers, campers & guardians
Assisting with training, evaluating and supervising of staff with the guidance of the Recreation Coordinators
Ensuring all documentation is complete and reported to the Recreation Coordinators

Position Requirements

Minimum of two (2) years previous camp experience, preferably with one (1) year in a senior/supervisory role
Must be a student who is returning to postsecondary education in the fall
Able to work a minimum of 9 weeks
Able to start work in June
Must be able to work between 7am and 5:30pm, Monday-Friday
Excellent customer service and leadership skills
Ability to deal with difficult and confidential situations
Valid Standard First Aid or willing to obtain prior to employment
High Five (PHCD) Certificate or willing to obtain prior to employment
Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check prior to employment
Access to a vehicle for Town business will be considered an asset

Current Hourly Rate of Pay:
$18.35
