WHAT IS THE ROLE ?
We are seeking a highly experienced Architectural Technologist to join our fashion company's store design team.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and developing store floor plans, designing retail spaces and ensuring that all designs comply with building codes and regulations.

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure that our stores are aesthetically pleasing, functional and meet our brand standards.


HOW WILL YOU DO IT?

  • Develop and design floor plans for retail stores, ensuring compliance with building codes, accessibility standards and other regulations.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including the visual merchandising team, construction team and external vendors to ensure that all design elements are cohesive and meet our brand standards.
  • Participate in site surveys to gather necessary data and ensure that designs are customized to fit each specific location.
  • Oversee the construction process and ensure that all materials used meet quality standards and are within budget.
  • Utilize software programs such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D modeling software to create accurate and detailed designs.
  • Stay uptodate with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outputs.
  • Determine the optimal store plan, maximizing usable floor space and creating a logical people flow throughout the store.
  • Plan the placement of decorative pieces and finishing elements across all customer and employee spaces.
  • Design construction plans as well as furniture.
  • Deliver high quality design documents (Conceptual presentations, 3D renderings, Design Intent, Design Development, etc.) following established quality standards.
  • Maintain conceptual tools are up to date (sample room, 3D library, professional photos, creative boards, sample boards).
  • Take ownership of the Design portion throughout all conceptual development phases of assigned projects.

WHO YOU ARE ?

Your achievements

  • Obtained technical diploma in architecture.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing retail store layouts, with a focus on fashion retail stores.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D modeling software.

Your contribution

  • Experience in developing design proposals for crossfunctional retail projects involving Store Designers, Visual Merchandising, Operations, IT and other internal & external stakeholders and resources.
  • Experience in producing inhouse concept development from design brief to prototype store delivery.
  • Knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and other relevant regulations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
