Job Summary

  • The Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) Atlantic, housed at Dalhousie's Faculty of Management, provides startups with access to a network of accomplished entrepreneurs and investors. Originally conceived at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, CDL is one of the world's premier seed stage programs for massively scalable sciencebased ventures. The program targets companies that have the potential to transform our social, industrial and economic landscape.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Creative Destruction Lab, the Program Coordinator will ensure the successful execution of CDL-Atlantic and the program's initiatives.

In addition to the event planning logistics, this role will be essential in the development of technical elements required for the execution of all programming.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination of CDL events across multiple cohorts, which includes communications, registrations, schedules, venue, catering, and supplies for all CDL stakeholders (mentors, sponsors, students, entrepreneurs, and academics).
  • Liaise with CDL-Atlantic participants to ensure proper registration and participant information. Works with all members of the CDL-Atlantic and CDL-Global teams to ensure program participants have access to resources and services, as appropriate.
  • Build and design technology workflows between various components of the tech stack to work efficiently within the Venture, Programming and Engagement teams.
  • Development of schedules, invites and registrations using utilizing Salesforce and AirTable for all programming events.
  • Prepare various analytic reports in Salesforce to measure the success of inperson and digital events, stakeholder engagement and venture progress.
  • Contribute to a variety of CDL-Global initiatives, which may include session support for other sites and assist with the delivery of additional programming offered centrally.

Note
Periodic evening and weekend work, and some travel is required.

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in business, event management, or other relevant field, plus three years' in a related role (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Demonstrated event planning experience.
  • Given the nature of the position, superior interpersonal and written communication skills are imperative.
  • Demonstrated technical skills with the ability to learn new software quickly and support new users.

  • Software proficiency with the following: AirTable, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, SalesForce, Slack, Zoom.
