Job description
Looking for a capable and experienced seamstress for a brand new, inclusive wedding salon.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform final checks on all items to ensure best quality such as checking for loose threads, uneven seams, etc.
- Ensure all items worked on are of best quality
- Perform basic alterations such as takein, letout, shorten, lengthen, sew hems, etc.
- Perform unique (reasonable) alterations as requested by the client
- Accurately measure clients
- Pin/mark garments as appropriate to type of fabric and to ensure correct fit
- Complete work as pinned/marked and to the highest technical standard and quality
- Deliver complete garments on or before the date promised
- Inform client of appropriate alteration charges as per price list
- Confirm and communicate promise date for completed alteration
- Provide expert guidance on cut and fit
- Bag completed garments after final quality check
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with various kinds of fabric
- Technical training (or equivalent)
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Strong attention to detail
- Team player
- Good listening skills and ability to suggest the best options for clients
- Dependable and reliable
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to multitask
