Maple Leaf Foods is embarking on one of the most exciting journeys in its history through the build and startup of a world-class, leading edge manufacturing facility producing premium, value added fresh poultry products.

The new 660,000 square foot facility will call London, ON home and will employ over 1,600 employees as we ramp up operations over the next few years.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:


  • Aid in the Production processes by performing daily machine setup, verifying operation through the shift, performing yield tests to validate performance. This information becomes the baseline of our continuous improvement culture. You will be involved with the tracking, trending and analysis of this yield testing data.
  • Be deeply involved in progressive, proactive maintenance routines, with a philosophy deeply rooted in a predictive approach in a 24 hour/day operation.
  • Troubleshooting and execution of identified corrective maintenance requirements in cooperation and support of the maintenance department.
  • Use of tools and equipment for routine and nonroutine machine adjustment/setup, leading to further advancement in roles and responsibilities.
  • Act as a means of support for Production operators within defined boundaries.
  • Perform assigned work orders and account for inventory and labour on a computerized maintenance management system (SAP).
  • Assist Maintenance trades in machine overhaul/rebuilds as required.
  • Report in writing any discrepancies or conditions that require corrective, predictive or planned maintenance for production systems.
  • Ensure all jobrelated operations follow GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and health & safety requirements.
  • Understand and adhere to all plant Food/Health and Safety Polices.

What You'll Bring:


  • You have strong mechanical skill and abilities and may have a mechanical, electronics or robotic technology diploma from a recognized university or college OR equivalent experience in relevant industry.
  • Previous experience as a Machine Operator is required and experience as a Service Technician or Maintenance Helper is considered an asset.
  • You are a team player who is willing to learn new tasks
  • You are able to read, write and communicate in English
  • You are comfortable handling or working around raw poultry products
  • You are able to work in compliance with GMPs, HACCP, Health & Safety and WHMIS requirements
  • Able to work in a fastpaced work environment with repetitive tasks in a wide range of environmental conditions
