Job Title:
Greenhouse Farm Laborer
Job Summary:
As a Greenhouse Farm Laborer, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of a greenhouse facility. This includes tasks such as planting, watering, harvesting, and maintaining plants, as well as general upkeep of the greenhouse environment.

$19 Per Hour
Location: Medicine Hat , AB
Hours: 7am to 4pm
Responsibilities:
Planting:
Assist in the planting of seeds, seedlings, or cuttings according to established procedures and schedules
Watering:
Monitor soil moisture levels and water plants as needed to ensure proper hydration
Fertilizing:
Apply fertilizers or nutrients to plants as directed by supervisors to promote healthy growth
Pest and Disease Control:
Identify and report signs of pests or diseases affecting plants. Assist in implementing pest control measures such as applying pesticides or biological controls under supervision.
Pruning and Trimming:
Trim or prune plants to encourage optimal growth and shape according to established guidelines
Harvesting:
Assist in harvesting mature plants, fruits, or vegetables according to harvest schedules
Sorting and Packing:
Sort harvested produce based on quality standards and pack them for distribution or sale
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse facility. Assist in cleaning equipment, tools, and work areas regularly.
Greenhouse Maintenance:
Assist in the maintenance and repair of greenhouse structures, irrigation systems, and other equipment as needed
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of daily activities including planting schedules, harvest yields, and pest control measures
Adherence to Safety Regulations:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
Requirements:
Physical Stamina:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Attention to Detail:
Ability to follow instructions accurately and pay attention to detail when performing tasks such as planting, pruning, and sorting
Teamwork:
Willingness to work collaboratively with other team members to accomplish daily tasks efficiently
Basic Plant Knowledge:
Some knowledge of plant care techniques, including watering, fertilizing, and pest control, is preferred
Reliability:
Dependability and punctuality are essential for meeting production schedules and maintaining the health of plants
Flexibility:
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules based on seasonal demands and weather conditions
Previous Experience:
Prior experience working in a greenhouse or agricultural environment is beneficial but not always required
Additional Information:
This position may involve working in varying weather conditions, exposure to pesticides or chemicals (with appropriate safety measures), and occasional weekend or holiday work during peak seasons. Training will be provided for individuals who demonstrate a willingness to learn and work effectively as part of a team.
