Position Title:
Summer Student - Tax Audit Assistant (4 Month Term)


Team and Location:
Finance - Calgary, AB


Position Summary:


The Tax Audit Assistant Summer Student is responsible for providing exceptional support to our Finance team of Parkland for the 4-month term.

As a member of the Finance team, you will be assisting with the day-to-day activities that include reviewing documentation to ensure validity for customer tax exemptions.

The student will be communicating with operational staff or customers to obtain and verify customer exemptions.

The Tax Audit Assistant Student will also be responsible for looking up customer account in systems and tracking progress through Excel.

The student will provide overall support to the Finance team for special projects as assigned.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Reviewing and confirming that documentation is valid for customer tax exemptions.
  • Looking up customer accounts in the systems and tracking progress using lists and reports in MS Excel.
  • Completing and supporting special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • You are available for a 4month term beginning on or around May 202
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities.
  • You have a strong attention to detail.
  • You have exposure to dealing with reports.
  • You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a challenging and exciting work environment
  • You have tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit and are passionate about seeking out winwin solutions.
  • You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through inperson meetings and video conferences.
