    IT works as a strategic partner with the business in developing IT solutions and related governance for use to meet on-going and future business needs. The group provides the infrastructure for automation and systems support to ensure all lines of business are afforded the functionality they require. In maintaining and launching business critical applications such as Oaken's eBanking and ServiceNow, IT mitigates risk, improves efficiencies and increases Home Trust profits, while fostering a culture of respect, trust and integrity.

    Position Responsibilities

    Business Requirements Elicitation and Process Flows (65%)

  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business clients and other stakeholders to gather business and process flow requirements
  • Accurately/completely translate results of requirements gathering sessions into useable project documentation
  • Ensure requirements captured are clear ( written in business language), accurate and detailed enough to support downstream design, development activities efficiently and effectively – leave no opportunity for "interpretation" of the business requirement by others
  • Analyse, document E-2-E business processes and flows "AS IS" vs. "TO BE", and communicate impact of changes for implementation planning
  • Update requirements documents as required to keep them current – throughout the full lifecycle of a product (Pre & Post Production)
  • Ensure business requirements are clear and captured to provide full traceability though PMLC and SDLC to support quality assurance of applications prior to their release into production. Establish the team / manage people, process and tools with consideration for each of the following: Create business requirements; Create functional requirements; Create user (stakeholder) requirements; Create quality-of-service (non-functional) requirements; Create implementation (transition) requirements; Create report specifications; Create / maintain traceability matrix
  • Support IT processes to help ensure seamless transition from test production
  • Risk and Compliance (15%)

  • Understand, adhere to and remain current with minimum policy & procedure requirements
  • Ensure business requirements do not deviate from minimum requirements without proper exception handling approval
  • Work with other internal staff experts to maximize standardization and efficiency of solutions under development
  • Testing (10%)

  • Strong analytical, Problem solving - exceptional and system skills needed to support testing of new/enhanced applications prior to release into production

  • Formal Education

  • Post secondary degree or diploma required (University degree preferred) in Technology, Engineering, Business or equivalent
  • Certification(s)/Designation(s) preferred in related area
  • Related Experience

  • 3+ years in business and/or systems analysis, requirements planning and documentation
  • Solid knowledge of on-line banking, retail banking, mortgage lending and visa processing at a minimum
  • Leading detailed requirement phases identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving business systems issues
  • Good working knowledge of business processing models and data modelling practises
  • Solid understanding of current IT infrastructure components – need to be aware of what we have in support of reuse where possible
