Janitor

Permanent Part-Time Position

Prince Albert Campus


This position is responsible for a variety of routine cleaning duties performed on a work schedule to maintain the First Nations University of Canada building in a safe, clean and orderly condition.

This position interacts with students, staff and faculty.

Duties and Qualifications:

Grade 10 is required with up to six months of janitorial experience

Some of the duties are:

Disinfect and maintain cleanliness of entire washroom areas, ensuring washrooms are sanitized daily; Refill washroom dispensers and restock paper products; Vacuum heavy traffic carpeted areas as required and all carpet areas; Dispose of garbage on a daily basis and disinfect garbage containers, ensuring garbage is removed to outside containers; Maintain cleanliness of the classrooms including chalkboards, desktops, floors, walls and garbage receptacles, in a timely manner; General housekeeping of private and general office areas, laboratory, laboratory classrooms, boardrooms, stairwells, library and main access areas including dusting, empty garbage receptacles; Washing walls, sills, doors, railings, windows, floors and blinds; Clean and maintain storage room and store cleaning materials and equipment; Empty recycling containers; Observe and report all work areas for the security and safety of the building and its contents; Performs related duties as required including assisting with special events.
