Position Description
Position Responsibilities
- Manage the scheduling repairs of waste collection and transportation vehicles.
- Ensure timely and efficient deployment of fleet resources to meet service demands.
- Oversee and manage third parties' contracts and services (fleet reparation and maintenance).
- Monitor national program of purchasing and control budget department.
- Monitor fleet operations to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Track and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations pertaining to waste transportation.
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures for drivers and fleet operations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for mechanics and relevant staff.
- Stay abreast of transportation regulations and communicate changes to the team.
- Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses involving fleet vehicles.
- Supervise fleet's operation staffs. Liaise with internal teams, including dispatchers, drivers, and customer service representatives.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as waste disposal sites and recycling centers.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, or service issues related to fleet operations.
- Foster effective communication channels to ensure smooth coordination and problemsolving.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to manage inventory levels of vehicle parts and supplies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; additional relevant certifications or education is a plus.
- 5 Yeas of experience working in a similar role.
- Proven experience working in leadership roles.
- 310T license considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience managing KPIs.
- Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field, preferably in waste management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and waste disposal procedures.
- Proficiency in using fleet management software and route optimization tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities to optimize routes and resolve operational issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Needs to work with other managers and business unit leaders to collaboratively meet the requirements of all the business units.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
