Description

Nature of the Work:

  • The job of analyst involves more specifically the analysis, development, coordination and monitoring of systems, methods and processes in connection with, among others, processing of information by computer or other means, organization and administrative operation, and communication structures, with a view to efficient use of the College's resources.
  • Reporting to the Director of Information Systems and Technology (IST), specifically the Infrastructure System Analyst is responsible for the design, administration and maintenance of the onpremise and cloud infrastructure

Responsibilities:


  • Maintain a technology watch and recommend changes to the server and cloud infrastructure, taking into account the College's needs and governance framework;
  • Plan and coordinate onpremise and cloud infrastructure deployments and upgrades;
  • Produce and maintain internal infrastructure documentation;
  • Participate in training the IST technicians to operate and maintain the infrastructure;
  • Assign tasks to technicians related to the operations and maintenance of these systems;
  • Provide third level support for these systems;
  • Configure and monitor servers and cloud infrastructure ensuring they are upgraded and backed up in accordance with established guidelines. Collaborate with the Network and Security Analyst (NSA) in the recommendation and deployment of security solutions;
  • Collaborate with the NSA and the Cybersecurity Incident Coordinators in response to security alerts;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Information Systems and Technology.

October 2023 to May 31, 2024


Requirements:


  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science; Management Information Systems (MIS); or Computer Engineering.
  • Conditions:
  • At least one current relevant certification from Microsoft (such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator), VMWare (such as Professional, Technical Associate) or AWS (such as Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer).
  • Demonstrated operational expertise with Microsoft products: Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, Server, PowerShell scripting, Microsoft 365, Defender, etc.
  • Demonstrated operational expertise with VMWare VSphere, including VCenter and ESX.
  • Operational expertise with cloud platforms and backup solutions, such as AWS or Veeam.
  • Demonstrated project management, analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with internal and external clients at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Advanced oral and written English communication skills
  • Recent experience in a similar position is preferred
  • Language competency and technical knowledge testing may be required
