Grove Park Home is a Not-for-Profit organization that is comprised of 143 Long Term Care beds, a small retirement home and an Adult Day Care Program.

Key Responsibilities

Leads, plans, directs, and monitors the overall operation of the Nursing Department
Ensures quality improvement and compliance with the Fixing Long Term Care Act and Regulations, as well as legislative and policy requirements
Policy development and implementation of best practices and improvements
Oversees all admissions and discharges
Followup and investigation of critical incidents
Oversees training of staff, scheduling, creates a positive workplace culture, ensures open communication with staff
Assists in recruitment, performance appraisals as well as progressive discipline and terminations
Effectively communicates with staff at all levels, residents, families, other departments and external stakeholders ensuring an interdisciplinary focus for the care and services provided
On call rotation for weekdays and weekends
Assumes responsibility for the overall operation of the Long-Term Care Home in the absence of the Executive Director

Qualifications

Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse
Minimum of three years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting
Experience in a leadership role of a varied heath care team
Minimum one year experience as a Registered Nurse in the Long-Term Care sector
Advanced understanding of the Fixing Long Term Care Act and Regulations, Ministry of Long-Term Care inspection and reporting requirements and provincial legislation
Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
Required to have a clear vulnerable sector screen (no older than 6 months), 2 step TB results (no older than 6 months), minimum of 2 COVID vaccinations
