Grove Park Home is a Not-for-Profit organization that is comprised of 143 Long Term Care beds, a small retirement home and an Adult Day Care Program.

Serving the citizens of Barrie for over 50 years, Grove Park continues to enjoy a great reputation within our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads, plans, directs, and monitors the overall operation of the Nursing Department
  • Ensures quality improvement and compliance with the Fixing Long Term Care Act and Regulations, as well as legislative and policy requirements
  • Policy development and implementation of best practices and improvements
  • Oversees all admissions and discharges
  • Followup and investigation of critical incidents
  • Oversees training of staff, scheduling, creates a positive workplace culture, ensures open communication with staff
  • Assists in recruitment, performance appraisals as well as progressive discipline and terminations
  • Effectively communicates with staff at all levels, residents, families, other departments and external stakeholders ensuring an interdisciplinary focus for the care and services provided
  • On call rotation for weekdays and weekends
  • Assumes responsibility for the overall operation of the Long-Term Care Home in the absence of the Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of three years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting
  • Experience in a leadership role of a varied heath care team
  • Minimum one year experience as a Registered Nurse in the Long-Term Care sector
  • Advanced understanding of the Fixing Long Term Care Act and Regulations, Ministry of Long-Term Care inspection and reporting requirements and provincial legislation
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Required to have a clear vulnerable sector screen (no older than 6 months), 2 step TB results (no older than 6 months), minimum of 2 COVID vaccinations
