The Role:


The Coordinator, Permits is responsible for the coordination with architects (internal and external) to ensure all information is received and packaged to submit permits on time.

The Coordinator, Permits is also responsible for the generation and review of cut sheets.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates plot plan process and maintain internal request sheets.
  • Monitors consultant workloads and escalate to Manager, Permits & Foundations as required.
  • Maintain NSEWeb and complete regular updates.
  • Coordinate grading management process.
  • Input grade condition into NSEWeb.
  • Use cut sheet creator to create all cut sheets.
  • Collaborate with the Automation team to optimize the program.
  • Maintain cut sheet database.
  • Submit cheque requests for building permits.
  • Submit permits into City of Ottawa portal and upload information into internal databases.
  • Maintain SharePoint library for master footprints, city redline notes and any other relevant files.
  • Manage map creator and generate various site maps (starts, closings, permit status)
  • Perform other duties as required.

You will bring:


  • University degree or College Diploma related to Construction Engineering Technician, Civil Engineering Technology, or similar field.
  • 13 years of experience in a similar role within a development or construction environment
  • Analytical and detailoriented with a keen focus on producing accurate and high caliber work
  • Excellent communication and analytical problemsolving skills
  • Selfmotivated and excels both in a team and independently
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency working in Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, Excel, and SharePoint programs
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Requires a reliable vehicle with a G class driving permit
