About the Role


Essity's Health and Medical Solutions North America team is looking for an experienced Business Controlling Analyst who will help support the Medical financials month-end close functions, monthly Medical reports to various stakeholders, End customers report validations, Customers/Products margin analysis, & rebate support.

The individual will also support with accounting, analysis & basic controlling functions in a timely, accurate & result oriented way.


This role involves working in the finance organization on the Medical Income Statement, Customer/product margin analysis, End Customer reports, rebates, balance sheet accounts reconciliation, month end close support & main contact by the sales team on Medical reporting.


The individual should demonstrate a combination of good accounting, analytical, strategic thinking & interpersonal skills while working in a team-oriented environment.

What You Will Do

  • Responsibility for Medical financial month end close activities. Laisse with the US support desk on accuracy of entries & support the Controller with providing explanations for reasons for deviations against financial forecasts & other KPis.
  • Support during forecast cycles with uploading financial data into Essity Systems.
  • Rebates: Coordinate with the support team in ensuring that rebates to customers/distributors are paid in a timely fashion. Followup on questions regarding outstanding rebates payments & new vendor accounts setups...
  • Balance Sheet Accounts & AR subledgers: Ensure accuracy of balance sheet accounts balances for the medical business & support with resolving disputed entries.
  • Sales & marketing basic support: First line of support to sales & marketing teams on reports, product profitability, End user reports management.
  • Contracts & tenders: Work closely with contract team & finance in providing appropriate support during contracts tendering cycles.
  • Provide backup support to other functional areas within the department, as needed.
  • Responsible for supporting the finance functions during internal & External audits.
  • Perform other projects and essential responsibilities as deemed necessary

Who You Are

  • Post-Secondary education, preferably a degree in Accounting, finance or Business preferred
  • At least 4 years' experience in an accounting role.
  • Experience with financial systems, period close, & working across multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with sales, marketing & finance teams.
  • Strategic agility in understanding business components & how they work together.
  • Customer oriented
  • Deep confidence in processes, systems & data hierarchy.
  • Acts & communicates effectively with integrity, objectivity & confidentiality.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft office Suite tools (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Access database).
  • SAP FICO experience preferred with working knowledge of income statement & Balance sheet.
  • Detail oriented & strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate courage to work independently & goal oriented.
  • Effective team player.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
