The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

    You will be responsible for defining and leading the delivery of the Engineering Assurance cases associated with railway electromechanical components and vehicles and preparing from the very beginning of the project's successful acceptance by the customer and safety authorities. Electromechanical components comprise Signaling, Communications, Train controls, Power supply stations and Overhead contact systems.

    Ensure that all the other technical departments of the project, including System and Sub Systems, produce the engineering assurance deliverables as per the end customer, safety, operational and maintenance requirements.

    Engineering Assurance Management interfaces with Safety Assurance and provides to Safety all necessary design, implementation and integration traceability as per EN50126 standards, including verification and validation, requirement management, configuration management, and RAM processes.

    You will directly manage a team of 5-10 multi-disciplinary engineers covering requirement management, configuration and modifications.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate all the System and Sub System engineering assurance activities of the project with customers, independent assessors, partners and subsystems.
    • Lead review design, RAM analysis, configuration control, verification and validation and traceability to T&C activities from an engineering assurance perspective and manage the performance verification matrix.
    • Ensure the application of the system engineering processes (requirements management, verification, validation, configuration and change control).
    • Lead and animate the delivery of the Engineering assurance packages for internal and external gates processes:
      • Internal Alstom DFQ gates
      • Approval in Principle, System Safety Design, Consent to Construct, Consent to Test.
    • Deliver in accordance with the scope: on time and on budget.
    • Ensure implementation of the system engineering process in accordance with company and industry standards and best practices.
    • Review compliance issues and support root cause identification and mitigation measures.
    • Organize and attend periodic design and safety reviews.
    • Defend assurance submissions argumentations in front of internal and external ISA (independent safety assessor), define and follow up action plans to close the assessors' findings.
    • Build the assurance submissions at the different stages.

    Educational requirements

    • Bachelor s degree in Engineering.
    • Master's degree in Engineering preferred.

    Qualifications

    • 15-20 years of experience in system design and development for highly regulated industries (rail, defence, nuclear, aerospace).
    • Peng certification or in progress.
    • Able to work independently with a strong ethic and a sense of urgency and network effectively to gather data from different sources.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented with the ability to learn and transfer new techniques in a changing environment.
    • Deep knowledge of international standards: ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015, ISO , CSA EXP11:20 (CMREA), EN /2.
