In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson International Truck Centres, working in a full-time position of
Assistant Branch Manager, reporting to the Branch Manager.

The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the day to day operations in the truck centres and will provide support to the Service and Parts departments.

Your base location will be
Kamloops, BC and may require some travel throughout our great province.


WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Empower, engage, coach and mentor to create a culture and processes which achieve the short and long term business goals and objectives
  • Develop strategic plans, by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives
  • Accomplish objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making midcourse corrections
  • Establish and maintain a proactive, ongoing and engaged dialogue at all levels of the organization, and with customers, vendors, etc.
  • Maintain effective means of control of the business outcomes and customer service reputation of the location through personal oversight and involvement to coordinate the business within the location and by effectively working with employees
  • Establish and maintain a proactive, ongoing, and engaged dialogue with employees to ensure equipment prep, service and parts transactions are accurate and meet customer expectations
  • Work closely with Service and Parts departments to coordinate daily operations, scheduling, and supervising
  • Responsible for daily shop operations such as parts ordering, deliveries, and inventory
  • Oversee daily business operations including service technician workflow
  • Support Branch Manager in reviewing financial statements
  • Cultivate a safe work environment by ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
  • Represent the business in community activities
  • Participate in recruitment and hiring of staff
  • Work with Human Resources to oversee staff adherence to performance expectations
  • Monitor and ensure internal and external work orders are handled in a timely and accurate manner
  • Build longterm trusting relationships with clients/customers

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Associates degree (business or technical); minimum two (2) years experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the heavy truck/equipment or related industry
  • Demonstrated experience with budget and inventory management is considered an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong strategic and customer focus with a clear understanding of the wider issues impacting the relevant markets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, vendors, and employees.
  • Ability to coach, motivate and communicate with others at all levels
  • Proactive problem solver and task oriented
