Overview:


The Site Manager will ensure staffing and oversee sub contracted personnel to enable plant productivity and maintenance in an efficient manner, while producing quality products for clients.

The primary focus will be on increased sales growth, safety, optimizing available reserves, and capital employed while maximizing subcontractor productivity at the lowest cost of production.

This individual will achieve sales objectives and improve overall profitability. This role will drive revenue performance, achieving sales & financial goals while focusing on high quality customer service.


Responsibilities:


Health and Safety:


  • Ensure the Contactor Safety Management (Avetta) program is strictly followed for all contractors on the site including prequalification, monitoring, documenting and reviewing contractor safety.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas.
  • Promotes a positive safety culture through safety leadership
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and country/provincial regulations
  • Implementation and management of all safety initiatives
  • Leads and promotes Lafarge Health & Safety commitment with customers and haulers
  • Ensures all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner.

Financial Management:


  • Promotes a culture of performance and exceeding expected results
  • Drive and track financial performance via monthly operational forecast.
  • Complete operations and sales forecast for Day 14 and month end review, ensure all revenue and costs are accounted for and are accurate.
  • Participate in month end reviews
  • Participate in monthly inventory, sales & production planning.
  • Effectively develops goals and objectives to implement actions, track performance and continuously look for opportunities for improvement
  • Adhere to commercial and purchasing policies, procedures and directives
  • Balance inventory and sales needs to manage and minimize working capital impact
  • Ensure all SAP System reporting, coding and approvals are completed accurately and on time based on the processes and procedures laid out for this role.

Customer Account Management:


  • Execute and meet objectives of the Sales Force Effectiveness Program and utilization of the Customer Relationship Management tool
  • Understands, communicates and captures the value of products and services to the customer.
  • Establishes effective relationships with the customers; based on quality products, services and convenience.
  • Determines the volume, price, freight and other supplyrelated details for existing and potential customers (and customer segments).
  • Identifies the source of competitive supply into the respective territory.
  • Understands and communicates the quality of products, services, and resources employed by relevant competitors.
  • Continuously monitors competitor activity, communicates and recommends any necessary actions.
  • Understands existing product specifications, identifies and recommends opportunities.
  • Identifies relevant issues that may affect product supply.
  • Understands Lafarge's current market position and continuously monitors the same. Represents Lafarge on industryrelated committees & associations.
  • Coordinate closely with other product line personnel to ensure effective customer and market coordination.
  • Works closely with our Commercial Sales, Operations, Finance, Environment, H&S and other internal personnel to promote an effective work environment.

Site Management:


  • Works closely with subcontract personnel & Lafarge peer plant managers and operations manager to develop best practices, processes and to ensure plant activities are optimized and costs are best in class
  • Actively lead on a daily basis on site operations
  • Implement and follow best practices for maintenance, production and shipping processes
  • Implement strategies to achieve target key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Effectively use Lafarge resources and programs to drive operational excellence and assist with the development of GVA Aggregates specific resources as needed

Environment, Land & Community Relations:


  • Ensure subcontract personnel operates site in a way to have mínimal negative impact on the surrounding environment and communities
  • Oversee and implement operational standards to manage activities that mitigate our environmental impact
  • Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with the local communities to ensure Lafarge is seen as a partner in environm
