ABOUT THE ROLE
The VP, Digital Commerce is accountable for the online channel P&L and digital commercial marketing activities for the brand.

They will provide strategic leadership and manage day-to-day execution across key functions including digital marketing, user experience, online merchandising, vendor management, and customer service.

This role is responsible for, eCommerce systems, CRM, and other point solutions. This person will collaborate with colleagues in Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, Sales, Finance, Operations, etc. to help achieve the Company's financial and brand-building objectives. They must be a hands-on, pragmatic leader capable of delivering results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

On a day-to-day basis, the VP, Digital Commerce will:

  • Implement and support CRM and other D2C tools
  • Act as the point of contact for the business group leaders requiring, eCommerce, CRM and other Direct to Consumer functionality
  • Develop and execute strategy to drive rapid, abovemarket, profitable growth in the ecommerce channel, while achieving sales and margin objectives
  • Build, in collaboration with Marketing & Digital Director, a strategic roadmap for the brand's online shopping experience and overall presence in web, mobile and social channels
  • Develop and maintain an active digital marketing and editorial calendar aligned with the brand's business and merchandise strategy
  • Profitably acquire new customers through marketing channels such as SEM/SEO, affiliates, display, influencers, direct mail, etc.
  • Increase customer retention and lifetime value through effective use of customer analytics, CRM techniques, targeted marketing, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising and Marketing team to effectively present seasonal collections, generate brand excitement, and build demand for Herschel products
  • Collaborate with the Retail, Sales, and Marketing teams to leverage digital capabilities to help drive sellthrough in wholesale and brickandmortar retail channels
  • Ensure strong customer satisfaction among ecommerce customers, working with internal and external operational teams to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Lead a highperforming digital/ecommerce team that forges strong crossfunctional relationships
  • Identify, select and manage external technology and business partners; ensure they meet performance and cost objectives
  • Prepare annual budgets, provide ongoing results analysis and forecasting, and drive prioritization of investments through quantitative business justification
  • Oversee coordination, delivery, and deployment of ecommerce assets, including site merchandising

ABOUT YOU

  • Seniorlevel experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, direct marketing, and/or related disciplines
  • Proven track record in building a successful, fastgrowing ecommerce business, preferably at a lifestyle brand
  • A background in performance and retention marketing is essential
  • Strong proficiency in online merchandising, user experience design, and usability best practices
  • Analytically driven approach to management and decisionmaking, with strong proficiency in web analytics, performance digital marketing, customer segmentation and analytics, and testing/optimization techniques
  • Previous experience operating in a multichannel environment (wholesale, brickandmortar retail, direct mail, online) a big plus
  • Track record of innovative strategic thinking combined with pragmatic, rollupthesleeves execution and results delivery
  • Ability to work across functions and within an executive team to catalyze change in a positive, collaborative, and transparent way
  • Demonstrated leadership in recruiting, retaining, and managing a highperforming team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts and analyses up and down the organization to influence others
