Position Summary


The Planning Manager will support the IPT in implementing the project and will provide scheduling, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on the project.

The Planning Manager is responsible for the project schedule as it pertains to engineering, procurement, construction, and testing and commissioning.

Also, directs all program-level schedule development and maintenance monitoring activities, as well as, develops, interprets, and executes policy objectives and standards.


Responsibilities

  • Oversees the implementation of milestone schedules, engineering/procurement/construction closeout monitoring, including documentation and planned maintenance activities.
  • Manages contract notice and reporting requirements.
  • Directs schedule analysis/study and problemsolving activities.
  • Develops and interprets guidelines applicable to the analysis function.
  • Directs schedule repoting activities.
  • Maintains required interfaces internal to the IPT, including scope change control, risk and reporting as necessary.
  • Provides guidance to the Project Lead on overall schedule impacts and solutions.

Job Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of engineering and construction procedures, principles, and concepts.
  • Ability to present planning and scheduling information to management and clients.
  • Knowledge about current industry and technical developments.
  • Experience planning large rail system projects.
  • Ability to communicate across technical disciplines (engineering, construction, testing & commissioning), as well as contractors of all levels.
  • Experience in different types of planning and scheduling tools to decipher best practices during project delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant bachelor's degree from an accredited university and a minimum of fifteen (15) years' of relevant project controls experience with an emphasis on project planning.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in directing, planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis in the field and home office.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for project planning and scheduling activities.
  • Project Management and Leadership role on a complex EPC/PMC/DP project.
  • Skilled in direction, personnel administration, and training of technical and nontechnical personnel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Experience in a multidiscipline team within complex megaprojects.
  • Strong leadership, relationship building and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Fluent in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
  • Demonstrated commitment to Zero Accident safety program.
