About the Role


This temporary position reports to the Director Quality and Resident Safety and is accountable to support the realization of Learning and Development priorities that advance Bethany as a high performing organization.

Through the leadership of a Senior Advisor, the Advisor, Learning and Development, is responsible for engaging key stakeholders in change management activities and supporting employees across the organization with the development, coordination and delivery of education that supports the broader talent development processes.


  • This position is intended as a backfill to a currently filled position, so may be shortened with working notice, or may be extended to provide additional support to major organizational initiatives underway._

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in related field,
  • Adult learning certificate.
  • Certification in Change Management or facilitation an asset.
  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience as a learning and development practitioner, including instructional design and learning delivery.
  • Prior experience coordinating and supporting team members.
  • Strong understanding of the population in care and the roles of the various care teams responsible.

Additional Necessary Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current Adult Education Principles with advanced facilitation and presentation skills
  • Experience in developing and coordinating a range of learning solutions including workshops, course curriculum and coaching;
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adept at working with a wide range of stakeholders and clients.
  • Comfortable traveling across central Alberta and working flexibly in response to a 24hr 7 day a week health care workplace culture.

Physical Requirements

  • Good vision and hearing (with correction if needed) is required.
  • The ability to spend prolonged periods at a desk utilizing a computer and monitor.
  • Mobility for activities such as kneeling, bending, stooping, and light lifting, as required.
