Quality Assurance Technician - Brampton, Canada - Cardinal Meat Specialists Limited

Summary of Position:
Maintain, coordinate and monitor HACCP, CFIA, HEALTH CANADA regulations and customer standards to ensure safe quality products.
Specific Accountabilities:

- Maintain HACCP Plan that includes collecting, analyzing and verifying production data

- Safety, Quality and Productivity (in this order)

- Follow company policies and procedures
- Liaison with CFIA Inspectors
- Ensure equipment calibration i.e., Metal Detectors, Thermometers, Scales, Acidity meter
- Inspection of raw material to ensure all inputs meet specification
- Verification of facility and equipment sanitation
- Evaluation of products by tasting, smelling, weighing, cooking etc.
- Ensure that all products are manufactured in accordance with company specifications
- Verification of CCP, GMP and communication regarding deviations.
- SQF Accountabilities
- Cross training of others in the Quality Assurance group to ensure there is coverage for planned and unplanned absences which could compromise our policies, procedures, and programs
Qualifications:
- 1 year or more experience in the food industry
- Post-Secondary School diploma
- HACCP system training
- Able to learn basic skills to run microbiological tests (quantitative analysis)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- MS Office i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook
- Able to work on production line when requested
- Proven abilities in multitasking, meeting deadlines and effective decision making
- Flexibility to meet various shift timings
