Position:
Associate Producer, Digital Content, Bell Media


Location:
CTV News Vancouver, British Columbia


Hours of work: 40 hours per week including Saturdays and Sundays


Role:


CTV News Vancouver is seeking a full-time, highly creative Associate Producer to join our dynamic team located in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

The successful applicant must have experience in writing, editing and content creation and must be able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom that covers breaking news.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Write and edit editorial for the CTV News Vancouver website
  • Adapt TV stories for print, cover breaking stories as they happen and pitch original story ideas
  • Package and publish content to the site with Google optimization and SEO keywords
  • Provide peer copy editing for fellow web reporters
  • Create and manage digital video content and livestreams, including autoplay videos for social media
  • Moderate public comments on Facebook and Twitter

Critical Qualifications:


  • Relevant webbased news editing and reporting experience
  • Experience working with online publishing programs, graphics software (Photoshop)
  • Proficiency with social media apps and understanding of social trends
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong grasp of CP Style
  • Exceptional team player

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Degree in journalism or other relevant field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of news and current affairs
  • Ability to maintain creativity and handle multiple tasks in a highpressure and deadlinedriven environment
  • Focus on accuracy
  • Enthusiasm for new technology and storytelling techniques
  • Proven awareness of emerging mobile news standards
