Summary of post:


  • The Site Superintendent is responsible for the bootsontheground daily management of each project site to which he has been assigned and reports to the Production Manager.
  • The Site Superintendent is responsible for all that happens on the site including all technical, facetoface meetings with the client, Project Manager, and Production Manager, relating to all aspects of the project.
  • The Site Superintendent is an hourlyworking, payrolled employee who supervises a specific site.

Specific responsibilities:


On-site tasks:

On-Site Signage:Maintain on-site signage (permits, safety signs, RBA site signs, etc)

Maintain Accurate On-Site Information:Obtain all current design drawings, architectural drawings, and change orders. Ensure all trades have access to physical copies of most current drawings on site.

Subcontractor Agreements:Ensure subcontractor agreements are completed entirely and adequately.

Worksite Supervision: Provide hands-on supervision of construction activities, ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and safely.

Team Management: Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors and other workers on the site.

Schedule Adherence: Ensure that construction activities are completed according to the project schedule, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to meet deadlines.

Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of work performed on-site, ensuring it meets project specifications and industry standards. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards, rectifying any defects or issues promptly.

Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a secure work environment. Responsible for maintaining on-site Health and Safety rules and equipment (fire extinguisher, medical kit, eye wash station, etc.)

Resource Management: Manage on-site resources including labour, materials, and equipment efficiently to minimise wastage and optimise productivity.

Communication: Act as a liaison between subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and the Project Manager, and facilitating smooth communication and information flow.

Problem Solving: Address on-site issues promptly, find solutions to challenges, and report major problems to higher management when necessary.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, materials used, equipment usage, and any incidents or accidents on-site.

Site Organisation: Organise the construction site, ensuring proper storage of materials, equipment, and tools, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to JR. Foremen and ensure they understand tasks and safety protocols.

Task Delegation: Delegate tasks effectively, considering the skills and capabilities of individual workers, to maximise efficiency and productivity.

Budget Adherence: Assist in controlling costs by minimising wastage, optimising resource usage, and adhering to the budget for on-site activities.

Client Interaction: Interact with clients professionally, addressing concerns and inquiries courteously, and ensuring client satisfaction with the on-site construction progress.


Pertaining to Production Manager:


  • The Site Superintendent reports to the projectassigned Production Manager and coordinates with the Project Manager on a daily basis and is aware of all site condition changes and subsequent actions required.
  • The Site Superintendent receives direction from the Production Manager once the suppliers/trades are awarded and then manages all onsite trade/supplierrelated difficulties and challenges.
  • Input on preliminary budgets and ongoing construction budgets and costs.
  • Ensures that the Production Manager has daily updates on each project and the Project Manager is informed of daily progress and conditions on site.

Salary:
$43.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

- construction: 1 year (preferred)
