Job Description:

Working under the support and guidance of the SUE Field Supervisor, you will complete subsurface utility data capture field activities, either individually or as part of a team.

These activities will typically include - field verification of utility positions using a variety of geophysical tools and capture these data using GPS survey equipment, coordinate with subcontractors, establishing traffic control and other safe work zones, organize and manage the field data and its transfer.

Most Of The Things You'll Be Working On:

Review and understand utility maps in various formats and from various sources
Operate a range of utility locating equipment and accessories
Locate and verify underground utility networks
Capture data using GPS systems
Document field work with photographs, field sheets, other forms, etc.
Follow and work within our procedures, processes, and systems
Maintain accurate records (data management, timesheets, expenses, etc.)
Establish and work within safe zones using appropriate safety equipment and working within company dictated Environmental, Health and Safety mandates
Be a positive team player as well as a professional ambassador when dealing members of the public or stakeholders
Participate and engage in team meetings
Travel to other cities, work in a variety of settings/conditions; occasional night work, weekends, etc.

Qualifications:

You'll Need To Have:

-
1 to 2 years of related experience in utility locating (private and/or public utilities):

Valid ORCGA DPT Certification would be an asset
Experience with GPS data capture is an asset
Valid driver's licence with a clean Driver's Abstract
Willing to work outside in a variety of weather conditions for extended periods
Excellent communication skills
Team player with a positive attitude
Selforganizing, able to prioritize and manage projects
