Clinical Receptionist Asst.

Diabetes and Endocrine Clinic
St. Joseph's Hospital - London, ON
Regular Part Time

This clinic is located within the Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Working within an enthusiastic team striving to create a Centre of Excellence in Diabetes Care, the Clinical Receptionist Assistant (CRA) supports a patient care delivery model that demonstrates an environment for seamless clinic flow and ensures the values of Excellence, Respect and Compassionate care are implemented into the daily care interventions for the patients of the clinic.


The Clinical Receptionist Assistant enables improved patient flow and ensures continued quality for the unit by registering patients, assisting with infection control by completing screening processes, and ensuring exam rooms and areas are stocked with necessary supplies.

The Endocrine CRA is also responsible for obtaining and entering clinical information like height and weight on the patient record and reports any pertinent findings to the team as necessary.

They are also responsible to assist with patient care needs, including lifts and transfers. With a focus on virtual care supporting patients with diabetes technology downloads is a key priority for this role.


Essential Qualifications

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or recognized equivalent by the Province of Ontario
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Office Assistant certificate program
  • Demonstrated computer experience with a basic level of knowledge in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, along with experience with Outlook
  • Experience with Diabetes technologies including pumps, meters and sensors
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Accurate keyboarding and spelling skills
  • Previous experience with computerized patient care systems, computer order entry and data entry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fastpaced environment
  • Good judgment and decisionmaking skills to ensure all necessary information is collected as per individual circumstances
  • Strong customer service focus and the ability to work in a team setting as well as independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Previous experience working with patient with Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic illnesses
  • Previous experience working with Cerner, Powerchart

  • St Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St Joseph's you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties

Immunization Requirements

  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
