    Description

    Bruce Automotive Group requires a skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate possesses a broad range of maintenance and repair skills, demonstrating proficiency in various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general maintenance. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the functionality and safety of the Group's commercial properties by completing tasks efficiently and effectively.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, repair, and minor construction work of company facilities involving plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, remodelling, painting, and a variety of other craft work
    • Perform a variety of carpentry duties, including installing, repairing, and building doors, windows, shelves, counters, floors, wallboard, railings, fences, and walls.
    • Conduct electrical repairs and installations, including troubleshooting and repairing outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
    • Instals, maintains and repairs a variety of plumbing fixtures and fittings including sinks, toilets, faucets, and related equipment; repair leaks and stoppages.
    • Performs general maintenance duties inside and outside of facilities; install and repair masonry including concrete, brick, stucco, plaster, and tile; performs maintenance painting including application of paints, varnishes, and lacquers.
    • Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything is in good working condition.
    • Knowledgeable in use of computerised Facility Asset Management software and its application.
    • Repair or replace damaged drywall, tiles, or flooring materials as needed.
    • Handle basic HVAC maintenance tasks, such as changing filters and cleaning ducts.
    • Troubleshoot and repair appliances, including refrigerators and dishwashers.
    • Perform outdoor maintenance duties such as gutter cleaning and siding repairs.
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests through an online request system, addressing issues in a timely manner.
    • Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything is in good working condition.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks, minimising risks and hazards in the workplace.
    • Collaborate with Facilities Project Manager as needed to complete larger projects or specialised tasks.
    • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked, providing regular updates to the Facilities Project Manager as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, with a demonstrated track record of successful maintenance and repair projects.
    • Proficiency in a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general maintenance.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and management of the Group.
    • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects as required.
    • Valid driver's licence and clean drivers abstract.
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or vocational training in relevant trades is a plus.
