To support us on our journey, Sinai Health is looking for a
Clinical Analyst I to support our
Clinical Informatics department at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes workflows and processes related to system use, and makes recommendations for improved efficiencies.
  • Acts as a liaison between clinical endusers, stakeholders, vendor(s), and other related systems users.
  • Provides input into the planning of proposed system implementations, upgrades and patches.
  • Participates in all related activities involving software version upgrades including testing new versions; learning new functionalities; and identifying procedure changes and creating training materials on new system features.
  • Creates and validates test scripts for Sinai Health's Health Information System's (Cerner) unit, system and integration testing events.
  • Ensures all enhancements, upgrades and patches are thoroughly tested and planned before implementation in the production environment.
  • Provides support and/or training to clinical champions and endusers; manages and maintains Mount Sinai's training classroom for clinician dropin sessions.
  • Supports the development and implementation of downtime processes and procedures.
  • Documents functional requirements and specifications and creates corresponding documentation as needed.
  • Shares oncall duties with other members of the informatics team during business and nonbusiness hours
  • Performs other position related duties as required


  • Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Health Science, Health Informatics, Business or Computer Science from an accredited educational institution.
  • Minimum three (3) years' of recent and related work experience.
  • Current or previous member of a licensed health professional or with current or prior certification in a related field considered an asset; proven, recent and related training and experience also an asset.
  • Applicants with proven recent and related training and experience may be considered
  • Working knowledge and experience in systems analysis and design.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical workflow analysis, workflow documentation and clinical process improvement in the context of system implementation.
  • Recent experience working with clinicians to collect user requirements for the configuration and implementation of Cerner Clinical Documentation and Orders is a definite asset.
  • Working knowledge of change control, quality and system performance methods and metrics
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint).
  • Detailoriented with the ability to organize, prioritize and complete tasks independently or with mínimal supervision within established time constraints.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to establish and build effective working relationships, functioning both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize competing workload demands with an ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Participates in improvement projects and on assigned committees to provide content expertise
  • Ability to work shifts outside of the standard 9am 5pm on occasion, including week nights and weekends to support system golives, upgrades and downtimes.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
