Summary:


The Systems Administrator provides day-to-day IT support to over 300 end-users and production staff working on award-winning film and TV animation.

The Workstation Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting the IT infrastructure and desktops in our Ottawa office and remote work users as a member of the IT Department, as well as transferring and archiving of data assets securely for the production teams.


Role and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and configuration of workstations/laptops, tablets, phones, or new equipment and other peripherals, while maintaining our asset inventory records.
  • Organize, transfer, archive and store digital assets for various productions as necessary.
  • Analyze, evaluate, coordinate, implement, manage, and support the daytoday maintenance of all IT hardware and systems following departmental standards.
  • Working with the team to prioritize issues. Escalate issues (when required) to the appropriately experienced Systems Administrator.


  • Incident Management

  • Responding, tracking, resolving, and performing root cause analysis to prevent reoccurring issues on IT tickets and deliver worldclass customer service.
  • Responsible for documenting procedures, problems, and their resolutions.
  • Create and update technical documentation, enduser guides, and process documentation while adhering to and enforcing all IT and company security policies.
  • Help enforce the security and privacy of our networks and computing system.
  • Onboarding new users, ensuring that their technology is working correctly, and proper access is granted.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively as a team player and independently as required.
  • As necessary, perform other duties as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Minimum 35 years of experience with technical support or user support, preferably in a production setting.
  • Working knowledge of Mac OS, iOS, Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with supporting an environment that is using Office 365 products ie: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint etc....
  • Experience with AD/Azure AD with Group Policies, Windows 10 and Centos 7, sharing data between platforms and managing permissions.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop technologies, such as PCoIP, Teradici and RGS.
  • Familiarity with IT Support ticket tracking, IT support tools, documentation platforms, and diagnostic systems.
  • Proficiency with typical video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Google Chat and MS Teams.
  • Strong analytical problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation. Highly selfdirected and selfmotivated.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent and competing challenges, issues, ambiguities, and contradictions that inevitably occur when supporting a highly complex and diverse production environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, install, configure, and maintain desktop/laptop computers and mobile devices
