    Description

    The Opportunity:

    The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for an AssessmentCoordinator/Analyst – Revenue & Assessment Services. The Assessment Coordinator/Analyst willprovide leadership to specialized assessment sections with an understanding ofcurrent and future requirements, a global perspective on the assessmentprocess, application of strong analytical skills, and the ability to adaptquickly. This includes interpreting andapplying complex valuation standards, meeting legislated requirements,development of staff and capacity, meeting legislated requirements,communicating and defending assessment information successfully, and to applyassessment knowledge to inform other City functions and projects.

    As our preferred candidate, youwill have:

  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in property assessmentor related field
  • Professional designation - Accredited MunicipalAssessor of Alberta (AMAA), Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI),Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA), Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES)or Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE).
  • In process of or holding of a professional designationin Mass Appraisal Specialist (MAS) or Assessment Administration Specialist(AAS) would be an asset.
  • Valid Alberta Driver's license
  • Use of a personal vehicle
  • Minimum 7 years of directly related experience invaluation including highly developed analytical skills
  • 3 years in a supervisory capacity is desirable
  • Additional specialized courses in incomecapitalization, analysis of income and expense statements, valuations, salesanalysis and leadership or comparable experience
  • Proficiency with assessment software applications andthe Microsoft suite including: Word,Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems anddemonstrate sound judgement
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills both verbaland written
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively inconflict situations, positive attitude, willingness to work constructively inteam environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation at theprofessional level, including continual learning
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and applylegislation, regulations, case law, procedures and principles governingproperty assessment
  • Demonstrated self-directed experience with the abilityto prioritize effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to time manage and workefficiently

    Remuneration:

    $56.84 to $59.83 per hour

    Hours of Work:

    75hours biweekly; Monday to Friday. Some overtime (eveningsand weekends) may be required when needed.
